Track 2 : Shaw meets separatist leaders | KNO

Track 2 Diplomat and renowned Indian civil society member, O.P.Shaw who is in Kashmir met couple of separatists and civil society members. He also held discussions with lawyers, doctors, bankers and educationists. “I met several Hurriyat leaders including Professor Abdul Gani Bhat.

I met civil society members and doctors and there were deliberations on Kashmir issue,” Shaw told news agency CNS. During the discussion the participants while laying stress on the resolution of Kashmir issue maintained that the uncertainty in Valley will prevail until and unless government of India doesn’t take the issue seriously and resolve it. They said that government of India has been sidelining the core Kashmir issue and has been wasting time and energy immaterial issues.

“We categorically informed OP Shaw that Kashmir is a political issue that needs to be resolved as per the aspirations of people of Kashmir. Development and erosion of special status can’t bring peace in Kashmir, but the final resolution will,” said a civil society member.
